Around 40 hits from the singer and songwriter’s career will be included in the repertoire of the musical “Meu Destino é ser Star, ao som de Lulu Santos” [I was Born to be a Star, to the sound of Lulu Santos], scheduled to debut on January 19, 2019 at Teatro Riachuelo Rio. The show, with general direction by Renato Rocha and musical direction and arrangements by Zé Ricardo, singer and curator of the Sunset stage at the Rock in Rio festival, will narrate the trajectory of young people who seek to make their professional dreams come true and achieve a great role in their artistic careers.
Presented by the Ministry of Culture and Sul América, a Riachuelo sponsor, supported by Eurofarma and Livelo, the play has a cast of ten actors. The show, written by Diego De Angeli, Leandro Muniz and Renato Rocha, produced by EmFoco Produções Artísticas in partnership with Aventura Entretenimento, promises to please all audiences, as it addresses current issues and will raise questions about a wide variety of relationships. “The text talks about ALL FORMS OF LOVE and dreams, just like the hits of this great national pop idol,” says director Renato Rocha. The show excels at being an exciting, pop, and current musical full of songs that have left their mark on people’s lives. In addition to talking about and stirring up emotions, it will address common themes such as internal conflict and personal growth.

Escola do Rock
Dewey Finn is a rocker who has just been kicked out of the No Vacancy band and is crashing with his friend Ned Schneebly and his girlfriend. Unemployed, Dewey impersonates Ned and goes to work as a substitute teacher in a traditional school.
Once in school, Dewey discovers the fifth grade students’ talent for music and sets up a rock band in the school, under the pretext that they will compete with other schools and earn extra points on their school record. He convinces the repressed principal and manages to persuade her to let him take the children on an excursion. On the day before the competition, the children’s parents find out that he is a sham.
The show talks about diversity and determination to pursue your goals, including 13 children on stage who are part of the show’s orchestra. They play instruments and sing throughout the entire show. The show is one of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s biggest hits, the same producer of The Phantom of the Opera, and will be licensed worldwide for the first time to Brazil, in São Paulo, with the Atelier de Cultura.
